Privacy Policy
Last updated October 9, 2026. This policy explains what freeonlinetools.live collects when you use the site and what we do with it.
Files and text you give a tool
- Image, audio and video files are sent to our server over HTTPS, processed, and not saved. Only the result comes back to your browser.
- PDF files you upload are saved on our server after conversion. Do not upload PDFs you need to keep private.
- Text you paste into text and developer tools is processed to make the result and is not saved.
- Screen recordings are made by your browser and never sent to us.
- For the YouTube downloader, the link you paste is sent to our server, which fetches the video from YouTube for you.
IP address and network tools
- IP addresses and hostnames you look up are checked against databases kept on our own server and are not saved. DNS questions go to the public resolvers 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8.
- On the What is my IP page and the My IP button, your browser asks ipify.org for your IPv4 and IPv6 address, so ipify receives your IP address.
- Country flags load from flagcdn.com and maps load from OpenStreetMap, which receive your IP address when they load.
- Provider and network data comes from DB-IP under CC BY 4.0. Location data includes GeoLite data created by MaxMind.
Information we record
- Page visits: your IP address, the approximate location worked out from it (country, region, city), your browser, operating system and device type, the page you opened and the site that linked to it. Visit records are deleted after 90 days.
- Tool use: which tool ran, when, whether it worked, how many files and how large, with your IP address and country. We use this to count usage and stop abuse.
- Hourly limits: your IP address is kept in memory for up to one hour to apply per-visitor limits.
- Email updates: if you subscribe, we keep your email address until you ask us to remove it.
Cookies and local storage
The site itself does not set tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage keeps a copy of the site settings so pages load faster.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts download.
Advertising
We show ads from Google AdSense in marked areas of the site. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
You can turn off personalized ads in Google's ad settings. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
Your choices
You can ask us to delete the visit and tool records linked to your IP address, or your email subscription. Use the contact details on the About page.
The site is not directed at children under 13.
